API Changes

Important: Updates to the Amazon API Services Developer Agreement, Data Protection Policy (DPP), and Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)

Hi All,
We are making updates to the Amazon API Services Developer Agreement, Data Protection Policy (DPP), and Acceptable Use Policy (AUP). These updates will go into effect on August 22, 2022.

Legacy Book Product Types Deprecation

Starting September 12, 2022, we will accept books related listings only in the ABIS_BOOK product type. The following seven legacy book product types will be deprecated:

New: Selling Partner Reports API on the AWS Cloud - Quick Start Deployment Guide

On July 21st, 2022, Amazon published the Selling Partner Reports API on the AWS Cloud Quick Start Deployment Guide for the Selling Partner API (SP-API). This QuickStart helps developers create an event-driven architecture in the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud that automates the SP-API report creation and retrieval and implements a notifications mechanism for an optimized solution. The deployed architecture includes all the infrastructure required by the Notifications API in order to receive and process report processing finished notifications, as well as ten other notification types. The functionality is exposed via Amazon API Gateway endpoints that can be easily connected to the developers’ application, and includes security best practices for credential management that can be reused outside of the scope of the Quick Start too.

CarrierCode value required in shipment confirmations for BR, MX, CA, SG, AU, IN, JP marketplaces

Amazon will only accept shipment confirmation that includes a CarrierCode value for all seller-fulfilled orders using Bulk feeds, APIs, or integrations. This change goes into effect for the following marketplaces on these dates:

Important: Amazon Marketplace Web Service (MWS) removal dates

Amazon Marketplace Web Service (MWS) will no longer be available starting December 31st, 2023 April 1st, 2024.

SP-API Throttling Adjustments

Effective August 31, 2022, we will be adjusting the rates across select API operations within the Catalog Items API, Product Fees API, and Product Pricing API. These adjustments will lower the rates of the 1x1 APIs. We encourage you to call the equivalent batch APIs for use cases requiring a higher volume of data.
